COLUMBO, SRIIIIIIII LANKA: A Town of TUKTUK Congested Chaos. But I’m a Madame here, which is better than being a hoe in Jersey…

So, we decided to hop over to Sri Lanka and take a peek.  The country seems pretty happy and mellow considering they just came out of a Civil War zone that lasted 30 long years.

The first thing I noticed in the morning, was an alarm of bird and monkey clamor.  Nice sounds to be woken up with.  I looked outside the window and there was a sea of school girls.  Sepia skin, bright white uniforms, and black black long braids.

Stepping outside, was complex vines and trees twisting around each other.  Trees wrapping and hugging their limbs around their own trucks.  Roots embracing whole sidewalks and buildings in a tangled nest.  The curve and swirls of the Sinhala alphabet seem to reflect this.

The beach isn’t anything special and the exhaust fumes are thick and black.  But the people are bright and perky and extremely friendly.  There’s some fun visuals, exotic sounds, and the hint of sandalwood incense, cinnamon, and curry sweeten the pollution.  All in all, it’s been a good city for introductions into the land of Sri.
